performance and physical theater.
About the workshop
How do you infuse abstract material with intention? What is action, and how
can it be utilized? How does one look at a stage?
During the workshop, we strengthened the relationship between body and
imagination, explored how internal action drives and charges external action.
In the first part of the workshop we studied movement from Niv and Oren’s
repertoire; we used it as raw material with which we played around, exercising
various unexpected inspirations such as dramatic situations, pop music and
boundary setting.
In the second part we played physical games that helped us understand the
principle of internal action, and its potential to improve our physical expression
ability, the way we see other dancers on stage, and the audience.
